I have not seen any correlation between clusters and hormones. I do also get hormonal migraines and from what I understand the connection seems to be when the estrogen level either goes up or down, depending on the person, there can be migraines. I too started on the pill a little over a year ago and have found that my migraines just became predictable! However, my doctor has been helpful in working on preventatives just like he has when it comes to clusters. I got a cluster cycle nearly a year after starting the pills which meant about 18 months between cycles which is probably about normal for me.
I am 52 now and have had clusters for over 20 years. They started after the birth of my second child but were very irregular in occurence for years. I personally hope that by sharing with others like in this website we can see if there is anything to figure out for women...after all until recently most people thought women didn't even get clusters!
