Verelan 120mg has somewhat worked for me over the years but has weakened of late. I usually start out by taking 4mg tablets of steroids (Methylprednisolone-6 day dose pack) and continue taking 120mg Verelan (one tablet per day) as preventive maintenance. But this last bout none of this has worked very well. It seems to curb some of the attacks but I am still having a few every week.
I'm curious as to the dosage others take. I am about to consult my doctor again about either increasing my steroid dosage and/or starting me on Ergotamine.
I had an attack this past Friday night that lasted 2 painfull hours. Again today (Sunday) I had another attack. I tried Imitrex nasal spray 20mg and my attack went away in 20 minutes. Imitrex failed to work on two other occasions several months ago, but I was willing to try it again tonight.
