Hi Stephen. I was wondering if you are being treated by a Neurologist or Doctor that is familiar with cluster headaches and, most importantly, how to treat them. As you probably know, many doctors are unfamiliar with CHs. I believe as most do on this site that seeing a qualified neurologist is important. There are many varities of treatment and can be found under Medical info on the left of our Home Page.
I use use medical oxygen to abort an attack, but my main treatment is use of Verapamil SR 360mgs (180 mgs twice a day. My doctor had to establish the correct dosage. I started out taking 180 mgs/day. The results were nill. when he doubled the dosage, I became pain FREE. I am no doctor but there seems to be more frequent usage of Verapamil SR. It falls in a class of BP medicines called calcium channel blockers.
I am sorry your CHs came out of remission. As you read the med info, you will find much more valuable information.
Nice to have you aboard.DC
