Portable tanks are great. They come with a
little wheeled cart. I just keep one in my car.
That way if I need to use it, even at home at
night, I can just sit in the front seat by myself for
5-10 minutes. It also works great at work.
You need to get a prescription, I think, then go
see one of those medical supply places. They
deliver O2 to people with chronic lung problems.
Also, be sure you get a regulator that will allow
high flow (~7 liters/min), as most people use a
much lower flow for respiratory therapy.
I am extremely lucky. My brother is a respiratory
therapist. When these things start up, he
delivers 4-5 tanks of O2. A tank usually lasts me
about a week, although this time, I am using
verapamil, and the headaches are much less
severe. The tanks weigh about 10-15 pounds,
and are really a lifesaver.
Well, looks like I have one coming on now so
I'm off to the car.
Good luck
Rick
