Your job situation just plain sucks. Sorry, I can't think of a more tactful way to say what I feel.
Let's try to look at it this way---you never knew how much you'd enjoy your social services work until after you got into it. Perhaps whatever supreme being/guiding force does or does not exist according to your beliefs feels you've learned all you can from that position and that you have contributions to make elsewhere.
The only way a door can close is after you walk through it--into a new room.
