I was episodic for 5 years had a 3yr remission and just last October started back with clusters. I have yet to find any medication that works as a preventative or as a prophylactic. I suppose, since I was always an 8-12 week cycle before, that this 10 month "cycle" means I'm chronic now.
I continue to try different meds in different combinations when I can find the courage to try. The failures are mounting...
All I can say Rob, is that the only thing predictable about these clusters is the pain. They come they go... no rhyme no reason. A med that works for one will not necessarily work for another. All we can do is keep trying, celebrate with those who find relief, support those who are still searching, and cherish our pain free days or hours whichever we can remember.
