I've used three injections within a 24 hr. period. Is it prescribed? No. Do I care? No. Am I willing to assume the risks associated with overusage? Yes. Its a personal choice issue. Use cost-benefit analysis on yourself. Can you and your loved ones handle the potentially deleterious side effects of overuse? Can you and your loved ones cope with the degradation in quality of life caused by not using Imitrex when you need it? Remember, physicians and drug companies make recommendations on their need to minimize risk exposure to themselves and their organizations. Personally, I find the side effects of Imitrex as rewarding as root canals. Nonetheless, if I could, I would give the team which developed Imitrex a Nobel prize. Its made that much of an improvement in the quality of my life.
