I've mentioned this before but thought it worth posting again that Imitrex is still available in the old-fashioned syringes (rather than the auto-dose) which allow you to use less than full dose for a headache. 1/3 usually works for me, which means that I can treat 6 headaches in 24 hours and not exceed the maximum (and lately that has been necessary). You will have to be persuasive to your doctor and/or pharmacist, but the regular syringe IS available routinely.
