That is interesting about the thrush because I had that too and they never said it was because of the Prednisone.
In fact, the first time I was on Prednisone at a lower dose for a shorter time it cause small cataracks. They never told me they saw them!!! And yet they put me back on the Prednisone at a higher dose for a longer time and they grew huge.
My immune system stopped working too for many months but luckly it started back up on it's own! Sometimes it never does. If it didn't I wonder what they would of done? Does that mean Prednisone the rest of your life since Predinsone, what I understand, stops your own immune system from working because you are getting it from the Prednisone.
I also had some bone loss from it.
They never told me that all my problems were caused by the Prednisone, I did research on the net. But when I pressed for an answer they finally told me...Yes it caused all of this and what I put in my other post earlier was caused by that steriod.
It is nothing to fool around with and it only really worked the first cycle anyway.
Sorry this is so long but I just had to vent on what that darn medicine did to me and my body and could do to someone else. It has changed the way I look and body parts (skin is thin, I'm cold all the time and my skin just tears) for the rest of my life!! It was not worth it for me but life goes on and I will live with it, what else can you do, we are so desperate to get out of pain we will try anything.
