I have been to the ER many, many times. For one thing, I really and truly think I am going to die this time for sure. Mine are getting worse as I get older. I really didn't think they possibly could, but they have.

I always have to call someone to drive me to the ER. I hate having to ask someone to help me like that, sometimes I just can't help it. Mine are usually in the middle of the night or on weekend with of course the doc's office are closed.

The last ER visit I paid $568.00 and $120 for the ER physician, which he took not over 2 minutes with me and acted like I did not know what I was talking about. I had not had one in about 3 yrs. prior and just praying they were gone.....haha not going to happen. I have $1,000 deductable and I had not met it on Dec 28, 98, so I had to pay it all. It is really a shame. The first thing they do is put you on oxygen.

Praise God my new GP lady had an oxygen machine delivered to my home last Friday.
Bless her. She is not by any means an expert, however, I am taking her information all the time and she is willing to help me and learn all she can. I took her 23 pages that I pulled off this web site the first time I tuned in. I couldn't believe all the information there. I keep very good records on my previous medications, illinesses, surgery, etc. and she thinks I am a fairly intellegent lady and most of all, SHE BELIEVES ME WHEN I SAY I AM IN THE WORST PAIN I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. That helps a lot having trust in someone that will truly listen and take the time with you.

I will continue to visit an ER when necessary. I worked the ER for 5 years back in the late 60'x & early 70s, and I never, never had one patient that came with a diagnosis of "Cluster Headache" They will usually put you in a room and have the courtisy to turn off the lights or draw the blinds. They did that in my GP's office last Friday. They will learn, I hope.
