After 17 months and about 1700 headaches, I have
been mostly pain free for almost 2 weeks.
After a few months of only minimal help from Verapamil and Lithium (that then stopped working at
all), and no help from Inderal, Depakote, Neurontin,
Sansert, I was given 10mg Amitriptyline. Still nothing.
2+ weeks after switching to 20 mg (at night), I now
have only mild shadows. At first I thought it was the
Phenylephrine Hcl in Preperation H suppositories
(don't laugh) which was needed after all the damn
medicines (sansert and Inderal) killed my guts, but I'm
thinking its the Amytr. now. Sure wouldn't want to
take a bigger dose cuz I'm pretty doped up when I
wake up. Or maybe the demon is giving me a break
(not likely right). I can't tell you how it feels to have
even a tiny bit of hope now. I had completely given
up, having exhausted all/most of the preventatives.
It took quite awhile to start working so I assumed the
worst. My eventual side effects on Lithium (900 mg
and blood level ~.65) were horrible shakes and NO
memory. Hated the thought of having to go back on
it. Anyone else having luck with 20mg Amitr.?
Don't give up folks. Like I said, I had no hope after
trying so many first-line meds. Everyone is different
it seems. Best wishes to everyone.
