Carol,
Bless your heart for checking into this for your friend. Your message almost brought tears to my eyes!
I'm kind of in the same situation with workers, but not nearly to that extent. I am currently on a trip (military training) with about 100 people that I've never worked with before. They completely don't understand what I'm going thru when I have to go to the clinic every day to get medication. It's kind of made them "look down on me" if ya know what I mean.
The ONLY one that has some kind of understanding about my situation here is my room mate who has witnessed severl of my "middle of the night" headaches. He 'bout freaked out the first night when I was pacing the floor, cussin', kickin', and pounding my head! :-) He's taken the time to read alot of the messages here and seems to be VERY receptive and understanding of what is going on now.
I'd suggest that your friend at least take a few minutes to read some of these messages too. I think she will be completely surprised when she sees that others are going thru the same things and that others understand.
Like I've said before...One of the most comforting things to me in the world as a Cluster sufferer is to know that there really are others out there who really understand exactly what I'm going through.
I hope you can talk her into checking us out
Deej
