While it's not as easy, it's best to use the chemical/generic name of a medication because the brand name will vary in different regions of the world.
A second reason: there have been several reports of late about the confusion in dispensing medications when names of different drugs sound or are spelled in similar ways. Using the generic name reduces the possibility of such confusion.
