Although the exact cause of CH' is complex. The location has been found by Doctor Kurdow(?)of England. Look through the current archives; you will find a more elaborate description. But this info is 'Ground Breaking Evidence" for Clusters.
In brief, the area of the Hypothalmus on the side of head effected has a high density of grey matter cells compared to non CHers. OK, the best immediate relief Is inhalation of pure medical oxygen. May be a challange to get a script. It is 80% effective for many but I hear 50% also.
From what I gather, Aan effectivew long term treatment is Verapamil SR. I take 360mgs per day
In my opinion and experience, it takes time to find the correct dosage.It can mean the difference between excellent results and poor results.Check uot the available treatments prednisone can abort a CH but can dissolve your bone structures involved in use of strength ,espically the Hips. It is a steroid and for short term relief only. But enough said but make use of the search engine on the home page and the menu on the left use the message board also.
