I wish I could help you and your husband find a dr. I know what you mean by the arrogance of drs. Of course a neurologist is better equipped in general to deal with these things but that does not let drs off the hook for their ignorance. Not only that but because they are not up to date and unskilled they blame us by calling us drug addicts or they refuse to accept any knowledge that we may have regarding our condition.
I am lucky in that it was my general practioner who first diagnosed me and he researched and researched in order to help. I now see a specialist but I realize how lucky I was(am).
I do however refuse to go to emergency rooms any more because the only time I went for help they treated me like a druggie.
