Truly sorry to hear about the neverending pain, and also a bit puzzled about your medication.
While I'm no expert (the usual disclaimer, right), your doseage of verapamil seems quite low for someone in such an extreme state.
I've not heard of the other medication, but there are abortives such as oxygen and imitrex, and preventives such as prednisone ( a steroid), that have worked very well for many of us.
Have any of these been even mentioned to you as a possibility? If not, then I would get right back to your doctor and ask some more questions.
Based soley on what you've said, it does seem that you have a lot more options than those you've mentioned.
I hope so, anyway. Let us know, and I'm hope you get some relief soon.
