I'd say forming a new country, writing The Declaration of Independance, these must have put an amazing amount of stress on him. To have this kind of pain,considering medical care of his time is amazing.
I think it has a lot of effect on who you are. I want to know if anyone has written on how this affected Jefferson as a person and statesman.
