My wife, being extremely drug resistant, has that problem, and we went through the whole step process. For all of you, this is the manner in which most doctors tell you to try things for constipation.
1) over the counter oral meds - exlax, etc.
2) OTC stool softners, and fiber mixes. (DRINK A TON OF WATER, OR FIBER CAN BLOCK YOU UP EVEN WORSE)
3) a magnesium drink, available OTC
4) glycerin suppositories
5) Duculax suppositories
6) Saline enemas
7) Mineral oil enemas
8) Ducolax and enemas different times of a day.
9) By prescripiton, the drink used to clear the colon before surgery.
Hope none of you have to go through this many steps. It isn't any fun. Kind of weird when you pray for Diarrhea!
