Carl-
I have tried to call for 2 days now.
I get the answering machine. Are you staying
somewhere else? Call....(if you want) or
have your friend Phil F e-mail me a phone
number where you can be reached.
Carl, really, I do understand your
frustration but a 4 hour wait is a lot
less than waiting till September. Go
back to the hospital and wait. It certainly
can't hurt!! I'm going to do some checking
for you. We have a free clinic here. It
is staffed by volunteer Doctors, Nurses
etc. You may even be able to be seen at the Illinois Department of Public Health.
Maybe there is a free clinic in your
city as well.
I know that IDPH does free physicals and stuff. The community Doctors donate samples to the free clinic also.
If necessary I will ask my Doctor to
see you for free or at a reduced rate.
You've made some positive steps forword
in attempting to help yourself. I'm proud of
you for that. I've never heard of taking
Verapamil 240 3X daily. I "believe" that
this lowers your BP. "Maybe" this is
contributing to your headaches (low blood
pressure)
I have never taken Indocin so I do not
know it's effects on clusters. Maybe
some clusterheads do take this med but as
far as I know it is usually prescribed for
"CHP" (think I got that right)
As far as seeing my Doctor I could at
least get you a DHE-45 IV and lots of
free samples plus maybe even some additional
community resourses.
I think what a lot of us really want to
hear is that your researching your options and
in some way really trying to help yourself.
I've been through a LOT of the same things you have, as I have told you so. It goes without saying that YES I do understand and so do a lot of other people.
Now, go to a mirror and do what one
poster told me to do. Look at yourself in the
face, tell yourself "I am NOT a bad person, I
am a good person, tell yourself that as bad as
things have been some people go through much
worse, tell yourself that there is HOPE!!
Get yourself to the hospital AND if
necessary allow them to admit you. Search
for community support and medical care AND
DON'T do anything that may contribute to
your headaches. Alcohol, cheese, chocolate
etc. BTW Carl, at one point in my life I
had no home, no job, no money, no Doctor, no
health insurance and survuved on 1 meal a day.
I know too Carl how depression is. It
can get real bad. Thank God for this web site
and the people here. Support and help
are just a click away.
Take care and remember though you might not
agree with all I've said it sincerly comes
from my heart
Phil C
My apologies in advance if this letter ends
up going all over the page. Maybe need to do
a "Margie" edit!!
