I just found out the same thing a month ago. I had been taking the generic (ercaf) for the past few cycles, but found that it can really do a number on your stomach if you don't take it with food. I finally talked the doc into giving me the original, but the pharmacy told me it is no longer available. As we all know, we want it in our system RIGHT NOW, and don't want the food in our stomach slowing down the absorption. Cafergot was great for me because I could take it on a completely empty stomach. Anyway, I got it down to a fine science; take the recommended ercaf tablets (two for me), and follow them with a small banana. No stomach upset and it absorbed fairly quickly.
