Being a new clusterhead, and having gone through my first
8 days straight, ever with this devil in my brain, I've
come to some conclusions. I believe our devil is of the
female persuasion. We women can be much more viscious than
any man ever dreamed of being. My devil can come up with
the most cruel and vindictive punishments for me - hence,
she's a woman. My devil also has a tremendous appetite.
She comes into my kitchen every day, nibbling away at her
chips and candy bars. When she's really hungry, she starts
cooking. She sneaks in and turns on the gas to stir up
her cauldron of goodies. As soon as that gas comes on, I
run for my Excedrin, ice packs, and nasal spray, and head
for my quiet spot and concentrate on breathing. (more on
that in another post). My devil
cooks, and stirs for a little while, and when her meal is
ready, she turns off the gas. The burner is still too hot
to touch, but I can actually feel and hear the click of
the dial when that burner gets shut down. I yell at her
to go off and enjoy porking out! I tell her she's gross!
I tell her she looks like Roseanne Barr (before the
transformation)! Maybe if I insult her enough, she'll
go away permanently.
Such are my thoughts and observations at 2:30 in the morn.
