My mother-in-law just left this morning to return to her home. While visiting us, we took her to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN for her cluster headaches. They are investigating to see if she might suffer from Rebound headaches - the medicines she is taking is actually causing her headaches since she is becoming immune to them after being on them so long.
We have been checking sources on the Internet to find out about Rebound headaches and have found a site that says analgesacs (asprins) can cause rebound headaches. Many of her medications, both past and current, contain asprin. For the 16 years she has suffered with chronic cluster headaches, BC Headache Powder, sold in Va and NC, seems most effective. It is the only medication she has used continously since her headaches began 16 years ago. She has been advised to go off all medications, one at a time, to see if the headaches which have most recently increased in both intensity and frequency, decrease.
Anyone have information on Rebound Headaches?
