Hi Sue,
When my very first cycle occurred, I had no clue what was causing this pain. I tried everything. I started off by taking 3 or 4 aspirin before bed. No help. Since the pain was similar to a deep toothache, I saw my dentist. He examined my back teeth, and found no problem. After several more 10+ bouts, and nearly pulling out my teeth myself, I returned and insisted that he dismantle the fillings in my molars. Again he found no problem, but he did notice that I had sinus infection symptoms (sneezing, runny nose, etc.) and suggested that perhaps, since the sinuses are so close to the roots of the teeth, maybe the infection was causing toothache pain. So then I was going to bed with 4 aspirin, 1 penicillin (I had a supply), 2 actifed, and a midrin (sister's recommendation). No help again. It was not until I was properly diagnosed and received c/h specific meds that I got any kind of relief.
