I can not imagine the despair and terror that must accompany being CHRONIC. Those of us who are episodic have the advantage of knowing that this thing will leave us and we will be ok for months and if we are really lucky, years. I have always felt that I could cope with anything as long as I knew it would end and that is how I have dealt with my episodes.
It must be a nightmare to be CHRONIC and to have to endure a constant search for treatment. From what I know of the CHRONIC experience, it seems that a certain drug will lose effectiveness and there is always a search for something else. I would also imagine that there is the emotional burden of worrying about the serious long term side effects of the medication. Drummer has told me that he gets his liver checked regularly.
I view CHRONIC clustering as almost a different disease and I would like to do something extra for these folks. I have no idea what that couild be. Does any one have any ideas?
The first step might be to simply identify them if they don't mind.
