Elka,
I was in the Air Force for 4 years and was a patient in a VA Hospital for an operation and a recovery after a botched surgery. I'm sure that not all military and VA doctors SUCK, but all the ones that I dealt with did. When I lived in base housing, the sergeant next door was having chest pains and drove to the clinic to get checked. They examined him and sent him home . . . everything checked out fine. At two in the morning he couldn't stand the pain any longer and called the ambulance on base. They came over and had him walk to the ambulance and get in. He was dead an hour later. He left a wife and 4 young kids. In the VA hospital (Hines VA in Chicago), I was in terrible pain from a botched ear operation and needed pills every four hours (more often really, but the doc said every four). Since there was one nurse for two floors (72 patients), I got the pills whenever the nurse could get to me . . . every 5 or 6 hours. I threw up on my sheets. They changed them two days later. I could go on, but won't bother. To say the least, "military care" is an oxymoron.
