I am not sure if the following will work for any others, but I thought it should be mentioned. My current bout started on July 5th. I have had from 1 to 3 headaches daily since then. I have taken one generic nyquill caplet, not the drink (no alcohol), at bed time each evening until last night. Guess what, last night is the first night I have been woken with a cluster. I am guessing the combination of the acetaminophen and the anti-histimine are helping me sleep. I am not sure if I am sleeping through the pain or if the headache doesn't occur. I find I can much better deal with the headaches in the day after getting some sleep. The caplet does not seem to work during the day. I know this over the counter drug is not recommended for people with asthma. I am going to try it again the next week or so, I will post my results. For any doubters out there, I would estimate that at least 70% of my headaches in the last 5 bouts came at night. By the way the ingredients in the caplet are as follows:
a. Acetaminophen 250mg
b. Pseudophedrine HCI 30mg
c. Dextromethorphan HBr 10 mg
d. Doxylamine Succinate 6.25mg
Best regards to all of you,
