I rarely use Sansert. I consider it 3rd line (or lower), both because of the potential long term complications, as well as many people have uncomfortable side effects with the medication.
I certainly do not feel, however, that clusters do not cause long term damage. Certainly it has destroyed many of our lives...and the suicide rate is high. So there is some reason to take risks with medication. Surgery is an option...but I think that there are a lot of non-harmfull drugs that are worth trying first. Namely calcium channel blockers, beta blockers, and short term steroids.
I agree fully with you stopping the Sansert. If you haven't tried Verapamil, I strongly urge you to try it with your doctor.
I would be happy to discuss any of the medications you are considering taking. Please feel free to email.
Good luck
Greg
