I take the pills--too big a chicken to inject myself, although I hear that the shots work faster. To be clear, I have to take a pill before the 'real' pain starts. When the shadow gets strong enough that I figure it's a safe bet one is coming on. I'm sure I sometimes take one when I didn't actually have a CH on the way, but that's just one of the demon's little pleasures-keeping us guessing. Wait too long, and the pill does nothing. Take it too soon, and it may be wasted. Obnoxious little beast, isn't he? (or she, to be p.c.)
Keep reading the board and check out some of the other remedies-O2 seems to work for a lot of ppl, and the 'water,water, water' approach also has a lot of supporters.
