I've been following the talk of where the best place to hold the clusterhead convention and Las Vegas has been mentioned many times. I live close to Vegas and there are a few things that you might want to know. Vegas has everything you could ask for in a convention city. Plenty to see and do and it's not all gaming and boozing in Vegas. It is family friendly and has many attractions for kids. BUT! In August it is hotter than hell! That's the hottest month of the year here. August is also the wettest month of the year, sometimes it even rains. Today, 6-30-99, it is 110 degrees outside right now. It will probably cool down to 85 by 2am tonight. And this is just the start of summer. In August there will not be 1 day below 105 degrees, guarenteed, most days will be around 110. Yeah, I've heard the "but it's dry heat". So is the inside of an oven but I don't want to spend much time there. This is not to discourage anyone from coming to Vegas. Just a notice to think about the weather. I can't think of a better
place to live. There are many web sites to check out about Vegas. Try starting at www.vegas.com
