Just curious, why St. Louis? I'm originally from the St. Louis area and it is a great town, but it is hardly a medical mecca. Another idea is Chicago - home of the Diamond clinic. It may be easier to get speakers in the Chicago area (in addition to Diamond, Dr. Saper's Ann Arbor clinic is also relatively close). In addition, the Northwestern hospital system is located in Chicago and does have a well respected Neurology department.
If lodging/convention center costs are an issue, then St. Louis would certainly be the cheaper option (than Chicago). However, I suspect that with all the rooms Vegas has that would also be a rather economical choice.
And lastly, a confession - yes I live in the Chicago area and am therefore biased, but to be perfectly honest I would prefer to travel to a convention to make it a mini vacation.
