this splitting of the pred for mornings and afternoons seems to be the new method of administering it . I know , I'd been on pred for the past two yrs ( for another ailement ) .
If I were in your shoes , I'd take it all in the morning . i.e. the 80mg one shot in the morning .( to help abort the attack asap ) BUT, make sure you eat say a banana on the empty stomach before taking the pills , followed by half a glass of milk ( hope you're not lactose intolerant ) then take the pred pills one by one followed by sip of milk and bite of muffin or any kind of bread or something that's non acidic .
Once you finish taking the pills for the day , ( i.e your complete 80 mgs )finish it off with some more food ..and a glass of milk or a neutral juice . ( avoid OJ , Apple juice etc ) .. I usually stick with mango juice ...or similar . ) And of course something not too sweet .
This way ..you really dilute that prednisone with a lot of food . You'll also get the urge to eat greasy foods a few days into your prednisone regimen . Try to avoid that too .
