Hello everyone. I've been reading this board for a couple of weeks and finally decided to join the festivities. I am 44 yrs. old, have had CH's for 20 yrs. and have only talked to one other person who has actually had this proplem, my doctor. To find all of you is quite an emotional experience. I have been a little shy (tortured animal syndrome) about posting but I got really concerned that one day I might read that we had lost one of us. Maybe there will be something I can do to help someday.
As I mentioned, my doctor is also a cluster bunny (chronic). His name is Dr. Thomas Miller and is located in Madison, TN near Nashville. When I found him I had hope for the first time, ever. One of the most important things he told me was that it was NOT MY FAULT. I had always thought I just couldn't handle stress, or life or whatever. Prednisone, DHE and O2 helped control the last bout over a year ago. Now if I can just pull my life back togther - just one more time. I've not been lucky enough to have had a girlfriend or mate that could handle these headaches. Can't blame them, though; is is devastating on everyone.
Now, belonging to clubs, organizations and groups never much interested me until now and the dues we have to pay for this one are outrageous! I don't mean to assume anything by saying "we" but I feel as though you just can't go through something like this without feeling a bond with other survivors. I can't begin to express the feelings of love, compassion and pride I feel for all of you. Thanks so much for being here.
