I just started oxygen and imitrix last week. It has worked wonders every time. I was holding my breath to see if my insurance company was going to deney me like so many of you have indicated has happened to you. I just wanted to share that I got a letter this week, rather quickly I might add, stating that my insurance company WILL BE paying for my oxygen, cart, and regulator for me. I got no static from them. So someones efforts somewhere are paying off for me and there must be hope for you. I also found out this last week that a general practicioer I went to see (not CH related) said she had a cluster patient who was being successfully treated with Zoloft? (antidepressent) and had been headache free for a couple of years and suggested if imitrix and o2 don't work to suggest to my nuero to try that. I also went to my chiropractor and mentioned the reason my neck hurt so bad and was locked up was because I had CH and had had many 10+ headaches in last week. He about started crying. He knew all about CH and felt very bad for me. The drs. I encounter in ER seem to be knowlegable also on CH. I say all this to say keep the faith. I think our medical drs. are starting to get the education and training they need and it will just be a matter of time before it catches on around the country. I live in Madison WI (major university, state capitol, lots of hospitals, less than 2% unemployment, great city) if any of you want to move here for less resistance. I will continue to pray that all of us have this much luck and for a day when no one has to worry about insurance and drs. not understanding our illness.
1 of many and never alone,
