Carl, I don’t know whether you’re in any shape to consider this a compliment, but your post helped me put my day into perspective. After seventeen years on the job, and at the age or 62, I was fired for “insubordination” for refusing to kiss the ass of my bitch boss who’s barely been living as long as I’ve been on the job, three years before I would have qualified for the max in retirement. Today, I went in to clean out my desk and turn in my ID card. I thought of this as a real bummer of a day, until I read your post.
Well, as another great, but, unfortunately, unknown sage once put it. “Life is a shit sandwich and, every day, you take another bite.”
P.S. I also have to admit that I’ve now gone into remission. An old buddy that I hadn’t seen in eight years dropped by and we went boozing. I didn’t even get a hangover. Also, I guess that going into remission and getting fired at the same time pretty much proves that a cluster headache is definitely not just a tension headache.
