A wanker is an individual who indulges in the vice of:
jerking the gherkin, bashing the bishop, whipping the weasel, beating the meat, bashing the bishop, larruping the gristle, spanking the monkey, pulling the pudding, playing pocket billiards, etc. Symptoms include premature baldness, failing eyesight/hearing, etc., hairs on the palms of the hands, epilepsy, and an overdeveloped musculature on the arm(s) and wrist(s). So I was told anyway. Used generally as a term of abuse to mean someone particularly useless, such as your Mr Quayle.
