Although we will all most likely react to this passionately, we must remember that there's a difference between ignorance and stupidity. Ignorance can be educated--stupidity is uncurable. Try to figure out which your docs have and treat appropriately. Don't hesitate to report stupid docs to your state (check the blue pages in the phone book)as well as the hospital at which they have treatment rights (St. Joe's it seems in your case).
