Periactin is an antihistimine but it functions slightly different than most antihistimines, one thing being that it affects serotonin levels.
I'm 28 and have had chronic CH's for 9 years. After trying literally everything else (some of which worked for a while and then quit working), my dr. prescribed Periactin and Elavil - which has worked wonderfully (maybe 1 mild headache a month) for about a year and a half, until last week they came back full force.
Try the Periactin - it is often prescribed as a children's antihistimine so it is(allegedly) pretty safe. I have tolerated it quite well.
Also, this site is great! I'm glad I stumbled across it.
