Man I really empathize with you. THEY can strike at the worst times possible. I miss work often and am behind on bills and have to extend the due date on utilities, doc bills, etc. Yea, I go insane also and I think it frightens people and I can't explain what is happening in the midst of an attack. May be you can write this babe and inform her of this rare disorder. If she is a healthy person, I would think that she will be willing to date you if that is your intentions.
My first attack scared the hell out of my girlfriend but I gave her my book on cluster headaches. She became supportive but I do try to stay in control and accept the pain. I still go beserk but have to let my girl know as soon as the onset begins. I am new to this site but I am sorry you had such a tough time. My blues band played here in Athens,GA last Saturday night and sure enough, I was hit. I made it through the rest of our third set but I think the audience distracted me enough to stay in control. It was REALLY hard and I screwed up my base lines. I thank God it lasted only 20 or 30 min. All the audience was more or less drunk and me being hard on myself for missing the beat,I doubt if they even noticed. I do feel bitter for having this disorder and thankfully most of my friends are supportive , but I get annoyed when they " Play Doctor ". But I am sure that this will always happen, so I try to be more tolerant since I am powerless over ACME physicians.
Hang in there Brother David Chalfant
