Having worked tech support for a long time, I can really relate to this stuff....What about the guy who phoned us and said his coffee cup holder on his computer wasn't working...we said "What coffee cup holder?" Seems he thought that's what the CD drive was.....
OR the time I asked a client to send me a copy of the file he was having problems with so that our programmers could adjust and fix the problem. He faxed me a photocopy of the disk.....
OR the time I asked a client to send me a copy of the file he was having problems with. He sent me the disk alright. STAPLED to a piece of paper! (back in the days of the 5 1/2 floppies)
OR the time I spent 45 minutes on the phone with a guy who couldn't get our machine to respond...I immediately asked if the power switch on the front of the machine was turned to the on position. Yes, he assured me, of course it was. After calling in the big guns from my department, we finally determined his power supply must be shot. Then, at the 46 minute mark I thought I would just ask one more stupid question. His response was, "Oh, jeez, you're right". Amazing how much better things work when you plug them into the wall outlet....
