Has your doc thought about trying something besides Demerol? It doesn't seem to be working very well. How about some ergotomine (DHE-45 or Cafagot) or Imitrex? O2 and ice packs are good. Drink lots of water.
I just get concerned when docs give that much demerol. None of the narcs ever worked on mine at all. But the ergotomines and triptans constrict the blood vessels that cause the pain.
Talk to him about this. Take him some literature off this board. He may just NOT know. Demerol used to be the med of choice for migraines back in the good old days. I had to educate my doc about them not working on me. He was so sure they would.
