Migraines and clusters are both vascular - the blood vessel constricts and than dilates - which is the source of the pain.
The earliest literature I read about this talked about the high incidence of cardiovascular problems among cluster sufferers. I have not read this since. Has anyone else seen anything about the incidence of heart problems among people with CH?
Nothing would surprise me regarding the root cause of this. For years and years doctors said that ulcers were the result of unmitigated stress. Well guess what, they have determined that the cause of ulcers is a simple virus ( or bacteria, I forget which ) but definitely not stress related.
A head injury as root cause would not surprise me. I was in a car accident at 18 - my clusters began a couple of years later.
