Sue,

Excuse my French, but your boyfriend is full of BS.

When a person has cluster headaches, they just want the pain to go away!!! You move about. You can not lay still and have somebody "scratch your back" because your head is exploding.

He would not even have the presence of mind to complain about the TV since the pain is too excrutiating. My boyfriend helps me take my shot of Imigran (Imitrex in the US I think it's called.)

I usually walk in circles in the apartment, crying until it takes effect. After that I'm so wrung out that all I can do is pass-out in bed. If my botfriend were so insensitive that he were to watch television in the midle of it all, I certainly would not have the presence of mind to throw something at him or complain about TV or throw a Pepsi. It hurts worse. The sniveling, groveling kind of hurt.

Were he really suffering from Clusters, he would be behaving in a different manner and you would be trying to take him to an emergency room.

Of course he can be getting headaches due to stress. Everybody does, tension headaches, migraine headaches, etc. HOWEVER, cluster sufferers are not violent to those they love. IT IS NO EXCUSE. (Sorry for shouting here).

Has he been to a doctor?

This is not your fault. Please, please talk to a good friend or counselor and get yourself out of the situation. I've been in a similar place, and it takes years to regain self-esteem.

Let us know how you're doing.

Best regards,

Karin
