My CHs have more or less been chronic for a number of years. I read some of the archives and obtained a copy of the new Cluster Headache book;it is very informative and the personal accounts shows that cluster relief varties considerably. Verapamil, O2 and the use o SSRIs is what stood out. I may be biased, but I want to speak about my experience. I take 100mgs of Elavil (amitriptyline HCL), 400 mgs of Serzone, and 360 mgs of Verapamil SR. Originally, I was taking 180 mgs of Verapamamil and was still getting almost daily cluster. My neurologist increased the dosage of verapamil to 360 mgs and within a week, my CHs stoped. I find myself in a 'catch 22 ' situation: may be the double dose of verapamil worked; however, the may have gone into remission on their own. I don't know whether to dis continue the VP or to keep own taking it since I feel certain they will return.
Hope you all are coping well
Sincerely David C
