Hi DJ,
We're getting lots of response to the on-line support idea. Here are some ideas in order to get it up and running.
1. Put a "button" up on the Board (that's where we need your help, sir) called "Supporters on Line Now" or "Talk to Other Sufferers" or "ICQ On-Line Support" something along those lines.
2. When volunteers are available to be on-line (ICQ seems to be the venue of choice for most people), they could sign in and their name and ICQ number would be posted. By signing in, they could press this button and add their info. When they finish they would sign out.
3. Of course, the sufferer will need to have ICQ installed or we could use another chat forum if need be such as yahoo - you can create private rooms in there but it is a bit more laborious to go that route.
4. There is one other issue I would like to talk to you privately about and I will send you an email about this when I finish this post.
Lastly, I tried to get into the CH Chat room last night to help Buddy who was doing some support for a spouse of a sufferer but after 7 tries, gave up. I kept getting the message, this program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down immediately. This error occured each time the chat page was loading before I could sign in. Any thoughts?
Thanks for you help, DJ - I know you're a busy guy but I really think the on-line idea is already helping a lot of people and it might just reach more who don't know about it if we can include it on the Board somewhere.
Let me know.
Thanks
Margi
