My husband had that happen with him with the different colored lights and shapes but later came a severe headache. Dr said it was migraine. Eye doctor said the same thing and showed him a picture in a book that looked like the design of lights that he saw. Happened twice and then went away. Hope this helps. These headaches whether migraine or cluster are horrible!!!!!Good Luck to you!
