Jeanine,
I also have problems with temporary "blindouts" -
what I call them. I tell you what I was told by a
top neurologist who first diagnosed my clusters.
Basically he said that pressure is put onto your
eyes from the cluster headache. I've had these temporary
"blindouts" for over five years now and while they
might take awhile to go away they ALWAYS do. At
first they scared me to death too and I was convinced
I was going blind or worse but now I just TRY to
relax and wait it out. Just so you know, mine
first started occuring while I was "clustering"
but then they also began occuring at other times,
like an episode of their own, which I think is
something like cluster cycle trying to break thru
or sometimes even out of the blue. I don't mean to
write so much but I understand what you are feeling
and I was VERY fortunate to have a great doctor
who finally believed in my symptoms and didn't
make me feel like I was crazy. What I am trying
to say is don't let it scare you, for some people, I
think, they are part of the cluster. I enclosed my
email address if you wish to talk more.
Good Luck. Chris
