Sex sells !!....remember ?:))
The drug companies don't give a hoot about how much pain you ( we ) are in .
We have to all come to accept the fact that the world revolves around MONEY .
In order to raise the awareness of drug companies about CH sufferers and thus invest more money into R & D into treatments , we have to show them our numbers . We don't know exactly how many sufferers are out there .
While I was at the neuro in Europe , he told me he had a patient who was suffering for 20 yrs and didn't do anything about it ..he just sat thru the pain . ( he subsequently prescribed methysergide aka desrnil aka sansert?? ) But that has been replaced by Verapamil now due to less side FX .
When I asked him how many such cases like mine does he get a year , his answer . " about 5 ".
BUT , how many people are referred to a neurologist??. Not that many , and most are misdiagnosed , like most of us here .
So ..to answer your question . Drug companies would want to invest into something that brings in a lot of cash ...hordes of money ...so their eyes would glee on the zillions ..and their pockets too . Not for one second would I be persuaded that they have any sympathy .
I'm sure they do a research of the most common disease and the most sufferers and thus give priority on where to spend their money ..
It's run like a true business .
Hope you feel better :))
