I did use Stadol to control the pain during my last attack. Since I am a student, most doctors are pretty hesitant to prescribe such a powerful, addictive drug. But my doc, seeing that I DID NEED it, prescribed the Stadol NS (it's a nasal spray) for me. It worked instantly and relieved a great deal of the pain. It also makes you sleepy, so you do get better sleep. The only trouble I had was sometimes I woke up with a "hangover" from using this (even just one dose). It made my "shadow headaches" during the day worse, but that was still much better than the alternative of not using it! I really recommend it, if it used in short times (episodes) and if it is used with caution.
