Thanks to all at the chat tonight. You are a great bunch of people.I never met any clusterers befor.
Well here goes bear with me sometimes my fingers get lost.
First I want to thank the fantactic Dr. That made my life bearable.Thanks Dr. L. if you read this.
TRIGGER POINTS, are lumps that trigger the pain to other points in your body. not the medical term, but best i can explain.
FINDING TRIGGER POINTS; some you will be able to find by yourself, some you will need help, you wont be able to reach them.
Start kneedig your muscle across the top of the shoulder that you have your C.H. on. You will find spots that willbe very tender when you push hard on thm. These are trigger points.work your way down your back or have someone do it for you. My wife does mine for me and she really digs hard to find them. Once you have them located,the trick is to get the poison or build up out of them. the best way I can do this is take a hot shower letting the hot water run down your neck and back. as soon as you get out of the shower massage every trigger point HARD REALLY DIG IN THEM. You want to try and mash the little buggers. If you have a helper to do this you can stretch at the same time turning your head from side to side, After you have mashed them, take a ice cube, wrapped in a wash rag. The rag is only to let you or your helper hold the ice cube. Now rub the ice directly on the trigger spots. This will take several ice cubes. You want to get every trigger spot cold cold cold. The idea is to get the blood to the trigger spot with the heat, mash it around with your massage, and move the blood and poison [residue] out of the trigger point.
I have used this method witout drugs for about three years now. I keeps me mostly pain free. When I feel a C.H. comming on I grab the trigger in the top of my shoulder and squeeze like hell. I can mostly stop the monster and put him back in his cave in about 5 to 10 min.
In addition my wife crunches my back, similiar to what a chiropractor does. Also I try to stretch my musclels alot so that they dont knot up.
