Several weeks ago, I responded to a question about Belergal. For 15 years, it, with Inderol have prevented my CHs. The day after the first HA of the episode, I am on the phone asking my Primary Care Dr. to call in the prescription. This year, he decided in addition to the medication, I needed to see a neurologist. Neuro said Belergal is too stressful on the heart, and at my age (60) not a good idea.
Just saw my PC Dr. for routine stuff and told him what I had learned. He disagreed. Said as long as I keep the blood pressure under control, exercise and remain tobacco free, he felt I would be ok on the bellergal. Since this combination has been a Godsend in my life, guess which Dr.'s advice I'm going to follow.
I am now slowing working off all meds. I just wish PCs and this site had existed 30 years ago.
Good luck and good health to all.
As may be noted, I have no ideal the correct spelling of the med I am discussing!
